January Kristen Jones was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, USA on 5 January 1978 but was raised in a small town of some 400 souls in the Mount Rushmore State for the first decade of her life. She is an American actress and model. She is the daughter of Karen, manager of a sporting goods store, and Marvin Jones, a coach, gym teacher, and fitness director. She has two sisters Ė Jacey and Jina. She was named after January Wayne, a character in "Once Is Not Enough" (1975) and this name is her real name. After graduating from Roosevelt High School in Sioux Falls she moved to New York City to become a model. Despite her height (5í6") she became a good model because of her good looking.
In 2009 January Jones announced Vanity Fair magazine that she had joined As a celebrity spokesperson in Oceana to save endangered sharks.
On 13th September 2011 January Jones gave birth to a son named Xander Dane Jones but she didnít announce the identity of her son's father.
January Jones had no acting training and didnít act in high school though she got her first taste of acting from TV commercials and found that she had flair for it. She first appeared on television on 1999 in "Get Real" As Jane Cohen. She appeared in a couple of television pilots and a cable television series like "Sorority" in 1999, "In My Life" in 2002, "Love's Enduring Promise" in 2004, "Huff" in 2007-2015, "Law & Order" in 2008, "The Last Man on Earth" in 2015. Until she landed the part on "Mad Men" As young suburban housewife and mother Betty Draper Francis in 2007, which made its debut on AMC in 2007.
January Jones made her big screen debut in 1999 in the film "All the Rage", an indie that never got a real release. Her actual debut in the sense of attracting attention was in comedy "Bandits" in 2001. Jones had had supporting roles in "Anger Management" (2003), "Love Actually"(2003), and "Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights" (2004), "The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada" (2005)," We Are Marshall" (2006), she played the role of Carol Dawson, wife of American football coach William "Red" Dawson.
The role of Betty Draper in "Mad Men " own Screen Actors Guild Award and Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance and garnered her two Golden Globe nominations and an Emmy nomination As Best Actress.
