Alice Sophia Eve was born in London, England on 6 February 1982. She is an English actress. She is the daughter of Trevor Eve and Sharon Maughan, both fellow actors. She belongs to English, Irish and Welsh ancestry. Alice Eve is the eldest and has two younger brothers, Jack and George. Her family once moved to Los Angeles, California when Alice Eve was too young and again returned to the United Kingdom when she was 13. She attended Bedales School where she first started acting in "Les Miserables" and "Twelfth Night" and then took her A-levels at Westminster School in London. During her gap year, she studied at the Beverly Hills Playhouse. Afterwards, she returned to the United Kingdom to read English at St. Catherine's College, Oxford University. During her Oxford University time, she appeared in student productions of The "Importance of Being Earnest", "Animal Crackers", "Scenes from an Execution" and "The Colour of Justice".
Alice Eve has heterochromia of the eye because her left eye is blue, and her right eye is green. Eve lives both in London and Los Angeles. She spent a long-term relationship with poet Adam O'Riordan whom she met while reading English at Oxford. The pair broke up in 2012. She announced her engagement to her high school sweetheart, financier Alex Cowper-Smith on 14 August 2014. they met while attending the Westminster School in London and they married on 31 December 2014.
Alice Eve performed in television dramas such as the BBC's "The Rotters' Club", "Agatha Christie's Poirot" and "Hawking" and starred in the film. On the other hand Alice Eve performed on stage in two plays directed by Trevor Nunn. In 2006, she played the young Esme in the new Tom Stoppard play "Rock 'n' Roll", at the Royal Court Theatre. The Following year she appeared in Broadway transfer and she was nominated for the best supporting actress award at the Whatsonstage.com Theatregoers' Choice Awards.
However Alice Eve got her first film role in "Stage Beauty" (2004) and followed that with the film "Big Nothing" (2006). In 2006, she went to India to shoot the British miniseries "Losing Gemma" (2006). Alice was introduced to American audiences in the film Crossing Over (2009). Her first high-profile role was in American romantic comedy film "She's Out of My League" and then "Sex and the City 2" (2010).
